The Ambition Plan

Weds Jan 16th, 2019, 6.30-8.30 pm

Huckletree West, White City, London

Ready for a career change?

Would you love to, not just make money from your blog or social media accounts, but turn influencing or blogging into your full-time job? You may think the market is too saturated to break into, but we’ve put together a panel of top UK bloggers and influencers to show you that’s not the case. It’s not too late or totally unrealistic to break into this industry… if you know how.

Join us on January 16th to discover exactly how to make your influencer/blogging career dreams come true.

Start the evening by grabbing a free drink at our prosecco bar (courtesy of Thomson & Scott).

Then take your seat for a no-holds-barred panel discussion with four hugely successful bloggers/social media influencers:

Em Sheldon (award-winning fashion, travel, beauty & fitness blogger)

Pixie Turner (formerly known as Plantbased Pixie – nutritionist, award-winning food blogger & author)

Lauren Black (fashion & lifestyle blogger)

Alex Serruys (lifestyle, travel & fashion blogger)

During this session you’ll be able to get their tips and advice on what you really need to do stand out in this highly competitive industry and learn how to grow a following, create brand ‘you’ and take your blogging dreams full-time.

After the panel session, stick around for a little networking with like-minded women and an opportunity to get some 1:1 time with our panel speakers.

And don’t forget to grab your goody bag (filled with luxury food and beauty treats from Emily Crisps, Masque Bar, Deliciously Ella, Virtue Drinks, Missfits Nutrition and others) before heading home.

The Speakers

Em Sheldon blogger and influencer

Em Sheldon

Em Sheldon is a full-time travel, fashion, beauty and fitness blogger who is based between London and Leeds.

She started blogging back in 2012 and has since won multiple awards for her blogging, including InStyle Magazine’s top travel and lifestyle blogger and Cosmopolitan Magazine’s top newcomer winner.

With an audience of over 200,000 followers across her social channels and a blog audience that exceeds 150,000 hits each month, Em is a fountain of knowledge, where turning a blog into a full-time job is concerned.

Pixie Turner

Pixie Turner is a registered associate nutritionist (ANutr) (MSc), award-winning food blogger, author and speaker. She started her blog Plantbased Pixie in 2014 and has since made a name for herself in the industry as an evidence-based nutrition and wellness blogger.

Since launching her blog, she has gone on to amass an audience of over 120,000 followers on Instagram alone and has secured not one, but two, book deals.

As a nutritionist and anti-diet advocate who is never shy about calling BS on diet and nutrition myths and fads, Pixie is the perfect example of how to grow a successful blog and social following without copying the crowd or compromising your beliefs.

Lauren Black fashion blogger

Lauren Black

Lauren Black is a full-time fashion and lifestyle blogger. She broke into the world of blogging in 2017 and has since been firmly focused on using her passion for photography and fashion to inspire and motivate her readers. In October 2017, she left university to pursue blogging as a full-time career – a risk that has paid off!
Despite being pretty new to the world of blogging, she has already built up a following of over 45,000 on Instagram alone, and now works with numerous brands, such as Ralph Lauren, Ted Baker and Ugg.
Lauren is a walking example of how to take calculated risks and make your mark in the industry, even if you’re pretty new to blogging.

Alex Serruys

Alex Serruys is a fashion, travel and lifestyle influencer and blogger, who’s best known for her bold, colourful style – that’s why her blog is called Alex In Colour.

Despite having a following of over 27,000 on Instagram and working with brands, such as New Look, Guess and Toni and Guy, Alex only began her influencer career a year ago.
However, it’s quickly picked up pace and in October 2018, she made the big decision to walk away from a 6-year career as an executive assistant to become a full-time influencer – that’s just one year after starting out.
If you think you’ve missed the boat and there’s no room for new faces in the industry, it’s time to take notes from Alex.

Lauretta Ihonor - host

Lauretta Ihonor is the founder of The Ambition Plan and an ‘expert’ career changer. She began her professional career as a medical doctor and then went on to work as a fashion stylist. Careers as a TV news producer, health journalist and nutritional consultant then followed, before she finally found her ‘passion and purpose’ as an entrepreneur.

Having started from scratch many times and quickly made her mark in new industries, she’s obsessed with showing women that they can achieve ANYTHING they put their mind to… especially if they learn from the experience of others who have been there and done that.
